The text of Hopkins poem is actually a palimpsist with parts of he text of Hopkins' "Inversnaid" visible below and around the text of THAT NATURE... Bound: accordion fold - on the short edge - with brown cloth of boards; the folds irregular to create a feeling of landscape when it is standing on its long edge. The colors of each page are painted brown, ochre, yellow, orange etc. as befits a fire. Housed in a custom-made hand-painted brown cloth over boards clamshell box with hand-painted label on spine and hand-painted diamond inset on front cover of box, lined with orange paper. The artist has interpreted Hopkins' with a visually rather than a literal interpretation of the text which is worked in "fire associated" colors across the dark grounds on each page. The book is rather complicated - as is Hopkins' text; it is also very beautiful and intriguing. One of Beth McKee's more ambitious efforts and a total success. Item #11530
