The artist's statement tells us that Samuel Taylor Coleridge's poem, KUBLA KAHN OR A VISION IN A DREAM, A FRAGMENT, was composed in 1797 after an opium influenced dream. Ms. Krause has informed and captured the "vision" of the poem with a series of images of submerged architectural passageways, lit from within. They reflect branches, illuminate floating leaves and flowers and reference Coleridge's cataclysmic vision. The book is often dark - but shot with streaks of light, mysterious and romantic enough for even Kubla Khan. Item #10508
